1 Corinthians 13:1-2 AMPC
IF I [can] speak in the tongues of men and [even] of angels, but have not love (that reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion such as is inspired by God’s love for and in us), I am only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
And if I have prophetic powers (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), and understand all the secret truths and mysteries and possess all knowledge, and if I have [sufficient] faith so that I can remove mountains, but have not love (God’s love in me) I am nothing (a useless nobody).
A boy was asked what love is and what is kindness? The boy answered and said if you give me a bread when I’m hungry, that is love, but if you add a little butter or jam to it, that’s kindness.
This simple act complete the equation of love + kindness = extraordinary love.
When we talk about love, is not just about something that must be said over and over and again without any proof or action, it must be in truth and indeed. Love must find a way to express itself. As a believer, you cannot claim you love someone and don’t show a token of your hospitality.
These days, the kind of love that we claim to have is not the kind of love Christ required from us. When we truly say we love our neighbours, we must mean it and be sincere in our heart to show that kind of love that will add eternal deposits and value to our account in Heaven. A love that will not cost you anything is not genuine love; a love that will not sacrifice anything is not love.
For some us, our love meter is too low for us to touch some certain realm in the spirit because we never want to release what we have. We hold some things so tightly that we never want to let go of it, may God help us to open our heart of understanding to receive the things that pertain unto life and godliness.
How Can We Show Love With Action
There are many ways we can show and express love, not only to our neighbours, loved ones, but also to strangers.
Genuine love must be sacrificial. The law of harvest state that you must sow something to get something. You must be able to sacrifice something. It could be your time, resources, or anything that worth it.
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
One of the ways you can express love is by giving. Imagine if God did not gave us Jesus Christ what would have happened to you and I, it would have been terrible because there is no amount of money that can pay the price for our salvation and eternal life.
Prayer and Action
Prayer is another act of love and don’t just let your prayer ends with amen let your prayer ends with action. I mean real action to back up your amen.
Little children (believers, dear ones), let us not love [merely in theory] with word or with tongue [giving lip service to compassion], but in action and in truth [in practice and in sincerity, because practical acts of love are more than words]. 1 John 3:18 AMP.
Beloveth, our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love which shows itself in action.
Beloved, I want you to know that love is one of the greatest commandment that can automatically secure your visa and passport to Heaven, as you begin to respond your love with action, may you continue to swim in God’s favour and Grace in Jesus name, Amen.
God bless you.
