But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:20-21.
God did not create you for time; he created you for eternity, he created you for you to enjoy eternal life. The reason why he created you for eternal life is to fulfill his divine purpose in your life and not your own personal assignment.
Ecclesiastes 3:1, says:
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.
The time mentioned in the passage signifies different season where things happen base on nature because it has already been programmed to happen that way. Every time in a season will always come and go because they are temporal, but the things that are eternal are meant to abide forever till eternity. And that is what God created you for.
In life we always talk about time, time, time; the question is what are you using your time for?
Are you investing your time, talents and treasure for the things that are eternal? Or you just want to enjoy the temporary time that will perish in just a twinkling of an eye. Your thinking should be more than that beloveth, because you weren’t created for just a season, you’re created for eternity.
You are a product of eternity; your past has nothing to do with your future because you are not created for your past, neither are you created for time, you are created for eternity. No matter how smooth or rough your past maybe you don’t have to focus on it, you have to set your mind on things that are above, spiritual and eternal. You might be a product of your past but you don’t have to be a prisoner of it. You are to press forward because you are created to do great exploit, you are created for eternity.
Paul was a fellow who had a rough past, but when he had a divine encounter and discovered himself, he said:
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14.
We must be like Bro Paul here; we must press forward and forget those things that are behind us. Note that not everyone that took part in a race will emerge as a winner, there can only be one winner, but if you press toward the mark for the prize of high calling of God in Christ Jesus, you’ll definitely emerge as winner.
God did not create us to just come to this life and then just go back the same way. He created us for eternity; he created us so he can help us fulfill his divine purpose in our lives and then fellowship with him till eternity. That’s why he sent his only begotten son JESUS to restore us back to our maker. You must come to realize that there is nothing in this life that will last forever, everything is temporal, everything is about time, they will one day come and then one day goes.
Beloved, invest your time, talents, and treasure on the things that are eternal and let your body, soul and spirit be focus on the things that eternal because you created for eternity. Remember you are not created for time, you are not created for just a season, you are created to shine in all season, and you’re created for eternity. Make up your mind today to surrender your life to Jesus and you’ll testify, God bless you.
