Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:12,14 NIV.
It is very important to know that the ultimate goal of Christianity is eternity with God in heaven. The ultimate goal of our Christian journey is to arrive in heaven at the end of our sojourn on earth.
The ultimate goal for every believer is arrive safely and hear the word “thou good and faithful servant”.
Focusing on this goal might not come easy, but if you really want to make it, you’ll definitely want to give it all and make sure nothing hinders you from achieving your ultimate goal.
5 Essential Keys to Reaching Your Ultimate Goal
-
Activate The Power Of Focus & Avoid Distractions
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2.
We live in a world of total distraction, where all manner of things are calling for your soul. If you are not careful, you will pitch your tent beside Sodom and then eventually end up in Sodom. Never forget that though you’re in this world but you’re not of this world.
If there is one thing which is very crucial that you do as you live this life, it is to keep your eyes solely on Jesus, and avoid distractions. Hebrews 12:2 says,
“Looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith; …”
Like the eagle, we should focus on our flight to heaven and also help people around us. Our minds must be fixed on the crown of righteousness and the glory that awaits the saints in heaven. So that we can go through our course in this world with joy.

Walk in Love
Love is simply sacrifice, any love that’s not sacrificial is not love. To walk in love means you’re ready to make sacrifices.
And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. Ephesians 5:2.
The walk of love is considered righteousness, the absence of love is considered unrighteousness. How you treat your brother who is naked is a determinant of eternal destination.
What we do with our fellow human being on earth affects your eternal destination. Your lifestyle is a voice in heaven, everything you do is a voice in heaven.
You haven’t matured in Christ until you’re really walking in love, and you will not walk in love until you understand and live in the righteousness of God.
God is love, and everything He does is loving. Since He has made us in His image, then that must be His plan for us, too. As we love with pure hearts, we will find others drawn to us to hear the Good News.
-
Holiness
Without which no man shall see the Lord. Hebrews 12:14
Holiness is the only prerequisite to see God. Others are additional things that comes with rewards.
Holiness has no gauge, you can’t measure it, you’re either holy or not.
Christ wants us to continue to display a lifestyle of holiness, even if others do not see it as fashionable in this world of sunken moral values and godlessness.
If we really want to achieve our ultimate goal and get to our desired destination, we must be holy.

Peace With All Men
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled. Hebrews 12:14, 15
The scripture above clearly states that we should follow peace with all men, not only with your family, friends, neighbors, coworkers or colleagues etc but all men.
Both young and old, dark or light, fat or slim, tall or short, stranger or no stranger, friends and even foes must be at the same peace level with you.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. [10] Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:9-10.
We’re part of God’s family and God’s family are peace makers not trouble makers. People finds it easy to relate with peace making people than troublesome and trouble making people because they feel very safe and secured around them.
When you don’t allow peace to spring forth from your heart, you can’t maintain a good relationship with your spouse, neighbours, friends, family, Co-workers, etc. You will always be offended, picking up a fight and fault finding with others.
Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come. Luke 17:1.
One of the purpose of your life on earth is to learn how to love and relate to others, peacemaking is one of the most important skills you must develop if you really want to achieve your ultimate goals.
To remain in God’s family and be also called the children of God, you must be a peace lover, you must be a peace maker and follow peace with all men.

Obedience
Obedience is simply submitting to God and doing His Words. Obedience to the word of God is the proof that you love Him.
If you love me, you will keep my commandments. John 14:15.
Obedience is the voluntary submission to authority motivated by faith and love and born in the heart and not the mind.
Obedience is simply cooperating with God to achieve your goals. It may even create a season of pain at first, but it is the golden link in the chain of reaching your ultimate goal.
God is pleasured through each act of obedience that progressively completes His dreams and goals in your life.
Believers who follow God’s way may not always be able to see very far down the path, because following God is a step-by-step walk of faith and obedience.
But despite the difficulties that lie on the path of obedience, such a great future in the Lord awaits those who choose to walk in God’s ways!
Beloved, here are 5 keys to help you stay on track on your road and to help you achieve your ultimate goal as a believer.
The road maybe tough, the road maybe rough but blessed are those that endured to the end, for they shall be saved, they shall receive their rewards and be given the crown of life and righteousness.
Stay Blessed.
