‘Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. John 15:8.

In the beginning, when God created man, the first command and word He said to man was “BE FRUITFUL”. God loves fruitfulness, He doesn’t like any form of unproductivity or unfruitfulness.

It gives God so much joy to see His children bear much fruits; and He doesn’t want any of His children to remain barren, unfruitful or stagnant in life.

There are many things that give God pleasure, glory and honor, and one of such is seeing His children bear much fruits.

In this post, we are going to be looking at seven ways of bearing much fruits that will bring glory to God.

  1. ABIDE

‘Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. John 15:4.

A tree can only bear fruits when it’s still connected to its root. If the tree is cut off or disconnected from its root, no matter how healthy the tree may look, it will eventually wither.

There’s an adage that says “a river that forgets its source will soon dry up”

Everything originated from God because He’s the creator of all things. As a believer, you cannot bear any fruit if you are not connected to your source which is God.

As the fish cannot survive without water, a believer cannot also survive or bear fruits without abiding in God.

It is necessary for you to abide in God if you want to bear much lasting fruits because it is Him you can grow and also flourish.

  1. KEEP HIS WORDS

‘If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. John 15:10.

If you want to bear much fruits and also flourish, you must keep the word of God. The word of God is not meant for a show, it’s meant to help us live a victorious life and guide us in our everyday walk with God.

To keep the word of God means, you must have diligently study, meditate on His Words and hide it in your heart. If a man does not know the word of God, how will he know how to keep it?

You must discipline yourself and carve out time to know, study, meditate on the word of God so that you’ll able to know how to and keep guard it.

  1. OBEDIENCE

‘Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. John 15:14.

One thing that also gives God so much pleasure is to see His children knowing the truth and also walk in it. Jesus said “happy are you if you know this truth and do them”.

It is not just enough to know the truth and not and not obey it. In fact, it doesn’t really do any good or make any difference if we don’t act on the truth we know.

Acting on the word of God empowers us to bear much fruits and also brings glory to God.

If we must bear much fruits and keep flourishing, we must know the truth, keep it and also do whatever it tells us to do.

  1. WALK IN LOVE

‘This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
‘ These things I command you, that ye love one another. John 15:12 &17.

Walking in love is simply walking in the will of God. You can’t walk in love and in the will of God and not bring Glory to God. You bear much fruits and also bring glory to God by walking in love.

Any man who walks in love is walking in the will and the nature of God because God is love.

To keep bearing much fruits, you must keep walking in love every single moment and every day of your life.

  1. EXHIBIT THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

‘But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, ‘meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22 -23.

God’s highest ambition is for His child is to be like Christ and transform into the same image. To transform to His image is to allow the fruit of the Holy Spirit to find expression in our lives.

To be a believer for so many years and people around cannot see any difference compared to that of an unbeliever or cannot see a genuine sign of repentance and moral behavior shows that the person is quite not exhibiting the fruit of the Spirit.

One of the proofs that you are actually bearing fruits can be measured to the degreeinf which the fruit of the spirit finding expression in you and through you.

To bear much fruits, you must be pruned by the Holy Spirit, and sometimes go through some high level of discipline and sacrifices. It is in this pruning, the fruit of the Holy Spirit will begin to manifest in you and through you.

  1. LIVE TO GIVE

‘Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13.

A farmer who wants to harvest must have sown his seed. If he doesn’t sow anything, he cannot reap anything. It is he that sows that will reap. If you sow badly, you’ll reap badly, if you sow good, you’ll definitely reap good.

Someone once said that everyone is a farmer; you are either sowing something or reaping.

If all you know is to always receive and not to give, I’m sorry, you can’t bear much fruit. It is he that gives that will receive. It is he that sows that will reap. If you don’t give anything you can’t receive anything. Whatever a man sows, he shall also reap.

One thing about sowing is that, you always reap more and more of what you sowed, and there is nobody that God has not given anything to give.

To bear much fruits, you must be ready to give. It could be your time, talents, treasure, resources, services, counsel, advice, love etc.

Be willing to give with a cheerful heart and you’ll reap more abundantly of what you have given out.

  1. MAKE DISCIPLES AND TURN MANY INTO RIGHTEOUSNESS

‘Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. John 15:16.

One of the proofs that you are really bearing much fruits is when you’re winning souls, making disciples and turning many to righteousness.

Bearing much fruit as Christ has said won’t be completed if you are not winning souls or making disciples or turning many to righteousness.

Winning souls and making disciples are two different things. Winning souls requires you to talk to them about Christ which has great rewards while disciplining requires you to feed and nurture them, and watch over their soul.

As a matter of fact, you can’t disciple well if you are not in the business of winning souls or turning many into righteousness. The three are very important if you want to bear much fruits.

Beloved, make it your goal and ambition to do the work of an evangelist, win souls, make disciples and turn many into righteousness. When you do these things, you will bear much fruits that will speak both in time and in eternal, and God will be glorified.

Remain Blessed.
