Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. John 14:1 KJV
In life, there are times when it feels everything is not working as either planned or expected. There are times when your heart is burdened and troubled on every side, and you feel weary, tired, worried, discouraged, and it seems the only option for you is to quit or give up. Beloved, don’t quit, and don’t give up. The Lord’s plan and purpose for your life will surely still come to manifestation and perfection in Jesus’ name.
I want you to encourage yourself and take a step of faith today, and God will surely come through for you. Let’s take a look at seven things to do when your heart is troubled.
- Be Still and be Calm
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. Psalm 46:10 KJV
When you see yourself burdened, perplexed, or troubled on every side, don’t complain, don’t grumble and don’t murmur, just be still and allow the peace of God that surpasses all human understanding to flood your heart. This is one of the ways you can win the war of impure thoughts and discouragement.
You need to maintain calmness in your heart and never allow the burden in you to weigh you down. Let your heart be at peace so that you will be able to hear clearly when God is ministering a word to your spirit man.
- Trust in God
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. John 14:1 KJV
Though things may be rough and tough, you have to trust in God, hope in Him, and have faith in Him. The moment you shift your trust away from God, things will become more complicated and worse. But the moment your gaze is till fixed on Jesus, you will surely be victorious.
Faith in God is never a waste of time; it’s a time to allow God to complete what He has already started. And he who has started the good work in your life will bring it into perfection. Beloved, if you believe in God and have faith in Him, you will sure see the glory of God.
- Seek The face God of in Prayer
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. Jeremiah 33:3 KJV
What a friend we have in Jesus
all our sins and griefs He bears
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer.
Never neglect the place of prayer in any aspect of your life. There shouldn’t be any time in your life when you should stop praying.
Prayer should not only be about making a demand or request, prayer should be on building relationship and fellowshipping with God, so in times when you need His intervention, you can talk to God about it and He will instruct or direct you on what to do and how to go about it. Build your relationship with God in the place prayer.
If there’s a man to pray, there’s a God to answer.
When things are good, pray
when things are bad, pray
when things are rough, pray
when things are smooth, pray;
are you perplexed, pray;
are you discouraged, pray;
is your heart burdened, pray:
do you need help, pray, and God will come through for you..
So whatever thing that’s troubling you, tell it to God in prayers.
- Encourage Yourself
Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. Psalm 27:14 KJV
David and his mighty men went for a battle, and before they came back, the enemies invaded their camp. They carted away with their properties and belongings, and even their wife and children were not left behind. It was a massive disaster and a great loss for David and his men.
At this point, they were all perplexed and discouraged, and David and his nighty men began to weep until there was no more strength in them, and his mighty men decided to stone king David because they where in distress and their spirit is crushed. But David encouraged himself in the Lord.
Beloved, no matter what you’re going through right now, no matter what might be troubling your mind, God can still give you a resounding victory that will exceed your expectations. It could be that you have lost it all and there’s nothing more again, God can restore all that you have lost and give you a new beginning if only you will lighten up your countenance and draw your strength from Him. No, it shouldn’t be, don’t wait until you see the end result of what God is doing in your life before you begin to praise Him. Praise Him now for what He has done and praise Him in advance for that which He will yet do because the situation would have been worse if not that God still has a great plan for you.
Beloved, praise Him for what He has done so far and praise Him in advance for what He will do. This is how to secure and command a victory that can only come from God.

When the wine was exhausted at the wedding, He told them what to do and they received their miracles.
when Peter was laboring and struggling to catch a single fish, He told him what to do, and he received his breakthrough.
