Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
Proverbs 4:7.
Wisdom is expensive but available to those who are ready and willing to pay the price. Every child of God is supposed to be operating in the divine wisdom of God because we have a father who has a river of wisdom that can never run dry.
But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding? [13] Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living. [14] The depth saith, It is not in me: and the sea saith, It is not with me. [15] It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof. Job 28:12-15.
Here are 5 ways to Seek Godly wisdom
- Fear of God
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10.
If you’re looking for godly wisdom and you don’t have the fear of God, you can never have it. I want you to know that worldly wisdom can be gotten anywhere but you will only get worldly result. It can never be unique because someone has walked in it before, the bible said that there’s nothing new under the sun.
The fear of God is what gives and makes way for wisdom to manifest in one’s life. Reading every book in this life and attending hundreds of seminars will be useless if you don’t have the fear God. The fear of God is the number one channel to get wisdom, not only will you get wisdom, you will also get understanding.
It’s the fear of God that makes way for great achievement in life. If you don’t have reference for God, men cannot have reference for you. I’m talking to the kingdom people, we rule by obeying principles.
And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. Job 28:28 KJV
The fear of God will automatically bring divine wisdom naturally without struggling. When you wear the fear of God like a garment, divine wisdom and knowledge will finds expression in you and through you.
Wisdom is lacking because there is no fear of the Lord. Anywhere there’s no fear of God, wisdom cannot be in operation. The fear of the lord is the free flow of wisdom.
- The Word of God
The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple. Psalms 119:130.
The word of God is a bank of wisdom, loaded with powerful and prophetic words of wisdom. When you meditate on it regularly, you become a reservoir and a tank of wisdom.
The reason for many struggles in life is not because man is weak or because of lack of skills, one of the major causes of life’s struggle is due to the lack of the word and right application of the word of God.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. Hosea 4:6.
Anyone who reject the word of God is heading for destruction that’s beyond restoration unless he or she traces his steps back to the word of God.
Many people were offended because of the wisdom Jesus had, though He was anointed, but the scripture makes us to understand that right from His childhood, He had known the scripture. Our Lord Jesus sat down with the Word so He was not ignorant.
The moment they brought the woman that was caught in the act of adultery to Jesus, before the accusers stopped speaking, Jesus already knew what to do, He wasn’t short of wisdom. One cannot have the written wisdom of God and remain helpless and confused. Every wisdom to counter all issues of life are already settled and written in the scripture.
If any man seeks to find wisdom, let him go for the settled word and he will overflow in it.
- Evangelism, Soul Winning and Kingdom Advancement
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who wins souls is wise. Proverbs 11:30.
Winning soul alone qualifies you to be wise. If a man begins to win soul, it means wisdom is already finding expression through that man. And there are two types of people that win soul in today’s world, those that win souls into the kingdom of light (God), and those that win soul into the kingdom of darkness.
We cannot say those that win souls into the kingdom of darkness are wise, rather it is foolishness, but they that win souls into the kingdom of God are wise because only God has the power to save and deliver man.
And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. Daniel 12:3 KJV
When a man begins to win souls for God, God will Himself impart wisdom into the man because He knows that man is ready to partner with Him.
A man cannot give what he doesn’t have but thank God that man is not God and God is not a man, so when God decided to give you wisdom through winning soul and advancing His kingdom, you will not only be a friend of God, you but also be among the His own special elect.
- The Holy Spirit
The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. Isaiah 11:2.
The ministry of the Holy Spirit is not to be neglected when seeking for divine and godly wisdom. This is what will distinguish you out from the crowd.
The Holy Spirit is what gives you understanding and teaches one how to apply the knowledge you have acquired. If the Holy Spirit is not there to give you understanding, your wisdom will not be different from the worldly wisdom that’s common all around everywhere.
The Holy Spirit is what empowers and ignite your spirit man to produce uncommon wisdom.
But there is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding. Job 32:8.
Without the Holy spirit, a man cannot be fruitful and profitable with his wisdom. If you want to be fruitful when seeking for wisdom, never neglect the ministry of the Holy Spirit, because it makes you outstanding and distinguished among the crowd.
- Ask For it
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. James 1:5.
A man receives nothing except is being given from above.
God is not helpless at any situation so He might not release some certain things unless we ask Him.
God is ready to even give you His kingdom if you obey Him, how much more if you take the courage to ask Him for wisdom that cannot be bought with money.
Beloved, Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore, get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.
