You are welcome to the winning life; a life of triumph and dominion! Now that you are born again, Jesus Christ and you will make an unbeatable team! With him, you will not have to lose any battle in life, but always be conscious of the following:
1. YOU ARE A NEW CREATURE
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17.
Now you are a brand new person! Your past is forgiven and completely forgotten by God! Every sin, failure and bondage to satan is over. You are free from your old habits and former grip of sin. God now sees you as his very dear child. The nature of sin has been destroyed. See yourself that way too.
2.YOUR SINS ARE FORGIVEN
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses. Colossians 2:13
It is important for you to know that by the blood of Jesus Christ all your sins are forgiven. It doesn’t matter what sins you committed before now, you are made clean and perfect by the blood. So when the devil comes remind you or accuse you of your past sins, tell him to get lost! God has justified you; satan can no longer condemn you.
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1.
3. EVERY CURSE IS LIFTED FROM YOUR HEAD
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross. Colossians 2:14.
You are now free from ever free from every curse. The curses of poverty, failure, barrenness, etc. are all removed from your life. You are free from both family curses and demonic influences. No one can place any curse on you, and no charm can hurt you again. (See Numbers 23:23; Genesis 12:3; Exodus 8:25-32).
4. YOU HAVE OVERCOME SIN
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: Colossians 1:13.
You are now a citizen of heaven. You are seated together with Jesus Christ in heavenly places, far above the devil and his evil works. No witch, wizard nor any occultic power can reach you. Your life and destiny are now hid in Christ. (See Colossians 3:3).
5. YOU NEED KNOWLEDGE
But the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits. Daniel 11:32B
As a new citizen of the kingdom of God, you need to know now things work in his kingdom. Satan will deceive you if you remain ignorant. Therefore to develop your knowledge you must develop the culture of:
- Reading The Bible
First, understand that the bible is God’s word. In it, God speaks to you about his will for your life, the blessings is available for your success and ultimate profit.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. 2 Timothy 3:16.
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby. 1 Peter 2:2.
The best of God is initiated by a thirst for his word. So, thirst for the word of God. You need the nourishment that the word of God makes available for every area of your life. It strengthens your spirit man, renews your mind and provides soundness for your physical body. Your word level determines how far you go with God.
- Reading anointed Books
In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years. Daniel 9:2A.
There are good Christian books written by men and women who God has given peculiar insights and revelations; where the things in the bible are broken down for easy understanding and assimilation. Get acquainted with them for spiritual stability.
- Listening to Anointed tapes and CDs
And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me. Ezekiel 2:2.
Take time out to listen to teaching on tapes and CDs. They carry the same power as the written word. Your faith is built up again and again. The more you hear, the more you are enlightened in your understanding.
6. PRAY ALWAYS
As you study the bible, also take time to talk to God in prayers as he talks to you from his word.
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Philippians 4:6.
7. BE BAPTIZED IN THE HOLY GHOST
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8.
The Holy Ghost baptism is the in-filling of power that enables you to overcome challenges and stand in victory. When the Holy Ghost comes upon you, you receive power to maximize your potentials, and you will become a testimony for him.
8. WATER BAPTISM IS A MUST
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38.
Even Jesus had to be baptized in water. (See Matthew 3:13, Luke 3:21). He called it the fulfillment of righteousness.
Until you are baptized in water by immersion, you are not complete. Note that water baptism comes after new birth, not before. It is a physical demonstration of what happened spiritually, as you got born again. If you were baptized before you got born again or by sprinkling water on you or as infant, then you should make sure you get baptized again.
9. KEEP RIGHT COMPANY
He that walketh with wise men shall be wise:
but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. Proverbs 13:20.
Now that you are born again, break off every ungodly association. You are now light and they are still in darkness, and the bible says light and darkness have nothing in common. (See 2 Corinthians 6:14). If you don’t break away from them, they will draw you back to your old way of life, evil communication corrupts good manners. 1 Corinthians 15:33.
Endeavor to seek the company of people who are genuinely born and who have testimonies. Also, don’t be ashamed to tell your friends and everyone who will listen that you are now born again. God can touch their lives through you as you share your testimony of salvation with them (See Romans 1:16).
10. DON’T MISS CHURCH SERVICES
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Hebrews 10:25.
Church attendance is not optional but compulsory for your well-being. The church is a place where undiluted word of God is taught under the unction of the Holy Ghost, to make a successful Christian out of you.
The company you keep determines the influence you command. Acts 4:23.
The following are eternal benefits of belonging to a church:
- You are provided with spiritual warmth. (See Ecclesiastes 4:9-12).
- Your prayers are speedily answered. (See Matthew 8:18-20)
- You will no more bear your burdens alone; you are cared for by the brethren. (See Galatians 6:2)
- You enjoy spiritual protection (See Psalm 91:13)
- You partake of a spiritual refreshing (See Psalm 65:4).
Further to belonging to a church, also identify with service groups through which you can commit yourself to service in God’s Kingdom and join any of them dedicatedly. Don’t just be a bench warmer; make sure you are in at least one activity group. GOD BLESSES YOU MIGHTILY.
