Integrity and righteousness may not be very rewarding in the short term, especially in a country with high corruption indices, but in the long run, it will pay off because, God will never forget your efforts shown towards His name.

And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments: [5] Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel. 1 Kings 9:4-5.

So becoming a man of integrity is not a day job, it’s a marathon not a sprint, it’s a process because you will be tested, betrayed, opposed, accused and even persecuted, only time will prove maybe you passed or failed the test of integrity. But if you persist and not give up, you will wear the crown of glory. Let’s look at some key points of how to be man of integrity.

3 Keys to Becoming a Man of Integrity

1. Walk in the fear of the Lord

Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth. Joshua 24:14.

To walk in the fear of God is wisdom, to walk in the fear of God is knowledge, to walk in the fear of God is understanding, to walk in the fear of God is to depart from evil, to walk in the fear of God is to depart from sin, to walk in the fear of God is to walk to please God, to walk in the fear of God is rewarding, to walk in the fear of the Lord is to walk in truth and honesty.

Walk in fear of the Lord and you will walk in integrity.

2. Be Principled and Disciplined

But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Daniel 1:8.

And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 1 Corinthians 9:25.

Daniel was one great man whom I loved and enjoyed so so much in the scripture. No wonder the spirit of excellence finds so much expression through him. He was so principled and disciplined, he never betrayed his principles. Even when it involves him standing alone, he still maintained his integrity.

Any man who will become a man of integrity, must spell out his beliefs and deliberately, consistently and persistently put them in practice.

It takes a man of discipline and principled to overcome the flesh.

As days, weeks, months and years are counting, and eternity draws nearer and nearer, we must exercise great discipline and self-denial for the incorruptible crown that awaits the overcomer at the end.

3. Believe That God is with You

But the Lord was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison. Genesis 39:2.

Any man who God is with will always laughs last and always be an overcomer. One with God is majority. Romans 8:31 says “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

God cannot be with you and then you end up in shame, God cannot be with you and then you end up a loser, never! It is impossible. Joseph was able to triumph despite the, denials, trials, betrayal even from his own brethren, because God was with him. If you can put your trust in God, you will never be disappointed.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. [17] If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O King. Daniel 3:16-17.

What a faith and integrity! The three Hebrew boys were another great people who displayed their faith in God and integrity in front of pressure. They went through the furnace of fire because of their integrity, but God was with them and He delivered them.

God supernaturally turned the fire into an air conditioner. Immediately, that scene became a place of tourism because the olowo gbogboro (The one with the mighty hands) has turned things around. Even the King bowed to the authority and supremacy of the almighty God.

My dear friend, If you don’t bow, you will not burn. Ask about the people that conspired against Daniel, they were eaten raw by lions. Believe that God is with you and that will make you be a man of integrity.

Beloved, a man of integrity will face oppositions and sometimes face accusations, but cheer up because God will always be with you. Even in the phase of oppositions and persecutions, you will always overcome.

Stand for what’s right even if it means standing alone remember God is with, you are not alone.

Prayer: Oh Lord, just be with me. Amen.

God bless you.
